Camping

9.16.2013

Shawn and I decided about 2 weeks ago that we should go camping before it gets too cold, for me.  So I took this past Friday off and we headed up.  Shawn did some research to find some cool places.  We wanted to try somewhere new and not four hours away.  We narrowed it down to Alderwood at Haigler Creek which is just outside of Payson.  Fortunately we were the first to arrive at the campground and got the best spot there.

WARNING: Major picture overload, its what I do

We know from past experiences on trips to the cabin that the girls do not do well with going to the bathroom in nature.  We invested in a camping toilet, as there were no bathrooms where we were staying, it was money well spent!

camping to me always consists of a fire.  I was fortunate there were no restrictions.

fishing was the equivalent to fishing in the bathtub.  No fish were to be found.  So the girls improvised.

Okay I’ll admit a little crazy with the pictures, but with kids this adorable can you blame me?

We hope to make camping a part of our family trips every year.  We had the most amazing time.  Between no cell service or waking up early in the crisp air listening to the creek water nearby and the birds chirping.  It was the perfect getaway.  The girls slept amazing and so did Abby, which is shocking since both nights we heard wild animals, all. night. long.  Naturally we worried about how the girls would do or them getting hurt.  Especially after a friend of mine’s son fell in the campfire and was airlifted to PCH.  Fortunately all we left with were plethora of insect bites and great memories.
