Organized Obsession

Over the past year especially I have been a bit obsessive with organization.  I realized how happy it makes me.  To be honest I have always been somewhat organized although now I am on a whole new level.  I have found a passion for labeling which was never on my agenda before. In dismay of the Husby we have been working on quite a bit around the house.  Which makes my heart pitter patter.  

Command Center

This board I already had, it was brown and just too boring so I spruced it up with some spray paint.  

I used some address labels I had to organize each slot.

A little color goes a long way, right?

I do plan to have Husby make a corner shelf to put pens, scissors, and charging station for our cell phones. Pictures to come shortly.

ENTRANCE

We got this shoe cabinet from Ikea.  Its the perfect dimensions for this space and has been very useful and much easier on the eyes than our previous cabinet {which is now in our closet and will be redone, more on that later} If I can boast a little, I put this together myself with only a few obscenities.

The wall directly to the left as you enter was a great space for organizing purses, sweaters, hats, and whatever else.  I had my eye out for ideas for months and finally found the perfect plan on pinterest.

What you need:

• nail gun {thanks to my FIL for loaning us yours}
• wood, we used 1x3 for the vertical pieces, 1x6 for the horizontal pieces, and 1x2 for a small ledge on the top, perfect for propping pictures
• wood filler {we used this not only for the nail coverage but also to make the wood and the wall smooth, with no separation}
• paint

LOVE, LOVE this space, it has come in handy!

Four

The girls are 4 years old!  We started the Birthday festivities by going to the zoo on Monday.  Ava got the over priced popcorn I normally refuse to pay for.  We had such fun!  On their actual birthday they went to school.  The night before we made snickerdoodles to take to their friends at school.  They told us everyone including their teachers sang Happy Birthday to them.  Once they were home from school Nana and Papa came over to visit.  I asked the girls that morning what they wanted for dinner.  Ava said cookies, Adisyn said cake.  So they ate cupcakes and cookies for dinner.  They loved it!  We finished the evening by playing at the park and reading lots of books before bed. 

The Monkeys came really close to us this time.

 

Dora Party

Ava unfortunately wasn’t feeling so good.  She gave herself a nap.  poor baby

This is how Sam started then…

He was diaper-less splashing in the freezing water.  He is ALL boy.

Shawn and Ava fell asleep on the couch. 

The next morning the girls played and played with all their toys.  Then they made a wish and let a balloon go. 

It was a great party.  The company was even better. 

 

 

Meet Dora and Boots

We decided to get the girls a hamster for their Birthday.  Dora is on the second story and Boots is buried in the bedding. 

 

We then headed to Nana and Papa’s house for a delicious steak dinner and hang out.

We are so thankful to have such amazing people in our lives.  I Love you girls more than words can say.  You truly make our World go round.

Easter

Easter weekend.  Wednesday night Adisyn came into our room because she threw up.  Shawn and I stumbled out of bed to clean them up, their sheets, and the wall :/  We got them tucked back into bed and they slept fine until morning.  Adisyn didn’t seem like herself but we were going to tuff it out and go to school.  As soon as we pulled into the parking lot at school.  Adisyn threw up again.  I took them back home and Shawn stayed home with them.  I took Friday off and was looking forward to a nice long weekend.  The girls and I had a good day on Friday.  Friday night the girls came in our room once again.  Adisyn was crying because she again had vomit all over her.  Only it was Ava’s.  Shawn wasn’t sleeping well so he volunteered to give them a bath and clean them up.  I took full advantage kind of feeling bad.  I laid back in bed and within minutes was having stomach pains.  I went to the bathroom and was sick all night long!!!  Most of the weekend was spent by me trying to make the best of it although not feeling so great.  

 

Saturday night we colored eggs.  We all had fun!  The girls were excited and looking forward to it all day.

Sunday we woke up earlier than the girls to hide their eggs throughout the yard.  At first I didn’t realize as I was setting the eggs down Abby was going behind me picking them up. She ate a few.  The girls woke up to see what was left for them.  They got a Dora towel, a Barbie, and some other misc. items.  Then we headed outside to find the hidden eggs.

We made some cupcakes and cleaned up then headed to Grandma’s House.  She went all out and it was such a great time.

We then headed to the other side of the family at the annual picnic in the park.  It was nice to see everyone and the weather was perfect.  I still wasn’t feeling that great so I was kind of a bump on a log.  We then headed over to Shawn’s parents and the girls rode their jeep around until the battery died.  They even rode in huge puddle and didn’t get stuck.  Off course Shawn was guiding them yelling “keep going, keep going”.  Abby even had fun running through the puddle :/

Overall it was a good weekend!
