REECE TURNS 2!

11.25.2017

My baby is T-W-O!  How is this possible?

This girl is full of love, energy, and sass.  We hosted a small party at home with sandwiches, pasta salad, and cupcakes.  Unfortunately, Reece got a cold right before her birthday and wasn't feeling herself.  She managed to have fun I think.  She definitely perked up while opening presents.  Of course all the kids wanted to help, but she really didn't need much.  She would even hold up the clothes and say awe.  It was the cutest!

Happy Birthday, Angel!  We love you so!

15 MONTHS

1.23.2017

Newborn, 6 months, 15 months

Oh my... 15 months already?!
This darling spunky girl has been busier than ever and at this point is practically running (and has jumped a few times).  She's full of personality and makes us smile on the daily.

Height: 2 ft 7.5 in (75th%)
Weight: 24 lbs (82%)
HC: 18.4 in (76th%)

This girl LOVES to d.a.n.c.e. all the time.  It's so cute and such an attention grabber from everyone and shows no sign of shyness. She dances to commercials, cartoons, and music which is played a lot at our house, and even with no sound.  It's the BEST!!!!

Reece still has a great appetite, sometimes eating as much as her sisters.  She eats nearly everything and after a taste test she's fairly adventurous with food.  She still does have a bottle during naps and bedtime.  I'm going to start working with her to wean her from her bottle, that's going to be fun.

Like mentioned above she is all over the place and runs to keep up with her sisters.  She is learning so quickly by watching them.  She absolutely adores her sisters and no one can make her laugh the way they do.  It is so awesome to watch them grow together.  At times they get annoyed with her and when I ask them for help I get the perfected eye roll (already, seriously?)  Most of the time they enjoy helping out with her.

She sleeps well at night (most nights) going to bed at 7:30-8 waking up at 6:30-7.  She takes two naps a day anywhere from 3-4 hours.  She loves her sleep that's for sure.  I try to get her and I out of the house as often as possible, but her naps make it difficult.  Hopefully in a few months she will begin one nap a day and we can be more adventurous together.

She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and still attentive to movies and cartoons.

She loves mimicking people.  She hasn't been saying many words, other than her baby babble, but I know it won't be long before she's talking back.

She loves to people watch, but is still very cautious around unfamiliar people.

For her birthday we bought her a baby seat for the bicycle.  She loves it!!!!  She also loves to swing and climb on just about anything.  She goes down many slides by herself with little to no fear.  I've contemplated putting a helmet on her everyday.

The past month she has a new squeaky mischievous laugh and its the cutest!

She is the highlight of most of our days and we still can't believe how much she has complete our family.  So thankful for this angel baby.

Considering most of the pictures I take of her look like this I need to practice action shots.

ONE YEAR

10.04.2016

ONE YEAR!

Oh this sweet little girl keeps me so busy.  She is so curious about everything and is afraid of very little.  She is crawling everywhere, but I can tell she is over it and just wants to walk.  She has been doing great at standing.  She walks along the couch and with her walker toy.  I suspect within a few weeks she will be walking.

She still has eight teeth, but I think her molars will be making a painful appearance soon.

Reece has been very clingy to me.  More than usual some days.  She does fine when I'm in the room, but as soon as I leave she breaks down.  I've even had to take her to the bathroom and in the shower a few times.  Ugh!  One day I'll miss their attention so I try to remind myself of that often.

She still eats very well!  She has bottles only when napping and sleeping.  She loves spaghetti, any pasta, beans, frozen green peas, bananas, crackers just to name a few.  I found out she likes frozen peas by her grabbing them from the freezer while I was cooking dinner.  I didn't realize the bag was open and I look down and she is chowing down on them.  Now when I ask her if she wants any peas she will kick her feet and gets excited.  I think she also likes how cold they are when frozen.  Too funny!

Most of the last month she would get up about 4ish wanting a bottle.  Lately she has been sleeping about 12 hours during the night waking up at 6ish.

We put up several baby gates which Reece is not thrilled about.  She noticed where we unlatch the gate and often tries to open the gate herself.  She's a witty one.  (Her doctor feels like she is advanced for her age).  I agree, genius baby.

Her one year doctor visit was a rough one.  She got four vaccines and had blood drawn.  It was so awful for her and me.  I felt so sad for her.  She also got a poke on her toe to check her hemoglobin which was very low.  Her doctor assured me that the test had to be inaccurate because the color of her skin and normal heart rate.  So, to be proactive she ordered a CBC to test whether she's anemic.  It was a rough visit to say the least.

On a more fun note...
Once I heard her waking up on her birthday I went into her room and threw in her balloons the girls and I filled the night before.  She loved them.

Her birthday fell on Saturday and we enjoyed the morning with the people we love the most in life (for the exception of a few out of state).  We didn't have a theme other than pink and gold.  It turned out adorable!

I have been anxious for fall, since her party was the start of October I served chili and s'mores to take home.  Couldn't help myself.

Reece was overwhelmed by all the love and attention at her party, but she looked so dang adorable!

Once her party was over she took a nap and woke up like this...

Happy as can be playing in her own poop.  Fortunately it wasn't a really messy diaper.
Later that day we headed over to a Oktobeerfest.  We had fun and Reece danced throughout the night and gave her pants a natural faded ripped jean look.  She was happiest crawling around.

Just before bed I read a few pages of her Dr. Seuss book Happy Birthday to you, a tradition I hope we keep.

Still can't believe my baby is one!  We love you darling baby girl.

10 MONTHS

8.01.2016

10 Months Old!!!  Can't believe I've already started planning this little ones first birthday.
Oh she makes us smile and laugh so much.  Her personality shines bright!

She's still into everything and is now crawling (not army crawling).  It took her a while and Shawn was convinced she was going to stand before she crawled.  She has perfected her yoga positions and does what looks like she's trying to stand and then she goes to her bottom.  Most recently she's learned to peek her head through to see her feet upside down.  Soooo cute!!!!

She also loves to pull herself up on just about anything.  She will just stand there, but not for long before she falls to her butt.

Another new thing is her laugh and smile.  She now loves to tilt her head back like the picture below. It is pretty much the cutest thing ever and is so contagious.
She still has 6 teeth.  Eating has been pretty much the same except even more solids.  She has decided almost the entire last month that she can't sleep through the night without eating.  She wakes up about midnight and then again about 4 a.m.  I've contemplated letting her cry it out, even though she doesn't cry more like whine loudly, but I just can't let her whine for more than 10 minutes.  Sometimes she will fall back asleep, but most of the time I have to get up with her.  We try not to take her out of her crib at all so she is asleep again in no time.  Nearly every morning I walk into her room and she's sitting up in her crib.  I suspect it will be sooner than later before we have to lower her crib as she's pulling herself up already and is quite the dare devil.  I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to get herself out.  I've also had to start disciplining already, she bites hard.  Nap times have been very easy and bedtime is uneventful as well.  Although, she has been staying up later.

She loves watching baby development shows and any cartoon her sisters happen to be watching. She's much more attentive than her sisters were.

Every chance she gets she's looking for her sisters.  It's safe to say she's obsessed.

She also says da-da-da-da just about all day long.  Shawn is convinced that's her first word and I could agree, but I don't think she actually says it to Shawn.  She says it more when she's playing with her toys or swinging her arms around.  It's cute though.

Another video for documentation.

And more pictures because I just can't help myself.
